The MyHVnet Colloquium 2026, held on 17 August 2026 at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and co-organized by the MyHVnet and IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter Secretariat, served as a premier platform for advancing high-voltage power engineering research, academic-industry synergy, and professional growth. Main sponsored by IEEE Young Professionals (YP), the colloquium successfully brought together 29 registered participants comprising 13 IEEE members and 16 non-IEEE members alongside a dedicated 17-member organizing committee that featured 11 main committee members (all IEEE members) and 6 student committee members (all IEEE student members). While the vast majority of presenters attended physically, a hybrid delivery mode was seamlessly maintained to accommodate three participants who joined online due to last-minute travel constraints. The technical program commenced with welcome remarks from the MyHVnet Chair, followed by insightful keynote addresses from Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Wooi Chin Leong and Ir. Mohd Azhar bin Abdul Aziz at the PTTA Big Stage in UTHM Library. Across three dynamic parallel tracks, early-career researchers, engineers, and students presented 31 high-impact papers addressing critical power sector topics, including partial discharge localization, edge-cloud signal denoising, solar PV integration, second-life EV battery utilization, and novel grounding materials. In addition to academic exchanges, attendees participated in a practical field site visit to the UTHM 33 kV Main Substation and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), bridging theoretical research with real-world utility operations, before concluding with an interactive afternoon technical tutorial and structured networking sessions. Through robust financial and logistical support, IEEE Young Professionals demonstrated significant value by driving active engagement among young engineers, expanding technical dissemination, and fortifying the IEEE student and professional network within Malaysia’s high-voltage engineering landscape.
