Technical talk: Lightning and the Optimization of Lightning Protection System in Hybrid Solar Power System

A keynote address titled “Lightning and the Optimization of Lightning Protection System in Hybrid Solar Power System” was delivered by Ir. Ts. Dr. Wooi Chin Leong, Secretary of the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society Malaysia Chapter, at the 2026 IEEE Sponsored Sixth International Conference on Advances in Electrical, Computing, Communications and Sustainable Technologies (ICAECT 2026).

The conference was organized by Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus with technical co-sponsorship from IEEE and was held on 8–9 January 2026 in hybrid mode.

The keynote session attracted more than 200 participants, comprising students, academic staff, researchers, and invited guests. The session was well received, with active engagement during the discussion segment.

Overall, the keynote contributed positively to the conference objectives by emphasizing the importance of improving lightning protection strategies for sustainable and reliable hybrid solar power systems.
