P.Eng Workshop participants

A one-day workshop on “How to become a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) for Academicians” has been successfully organised by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) Malaysia Chapter on 27th July 2017 in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia.

The speakers of the workshop were Professor Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Raman (University of Malaya), Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Hazlee Azil Illias (University of Malaya) and Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Mohamad Kamarol Mohd Jamil (Universiti Sains Malaysia).

Thirty academicians from various private and public academic institutions have participated in the workshop.

The objectives of the workshop were to explain Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) requirements of P.Eng for academicians, to share speakers’ experience towards P.Eng with participants through different routes and to expose participants on how to write a technical report and a training and experience report for P.Eng application.

In the morning session, there were three sharing sessions with speakers who have become a P.Eng through route 1 (BEM Professional Assessment Examination), route 2 (Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Professional Interview) and route 3 (Overseas Regulatory Bodies). In the afternoon session, the workshop covered on how to write a technical report and a training and experience report for P.Eng application.
