The annual general meeting (AGM) of IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation society (DEIS) Malaysia chapter was successfully held on 11th June 2015 in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), KL campus, Malaysia. The meeting was attended by 15 active members of IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter and chaired by Dr. Yanuar Zulardiansyah Arief from UTM, Malaysia.

The meeting began at 9:15 am with a welcoming speech by Dr. Yanuar as the IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter ad interim chair. The meeting was continued with the selection of IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter executive committee members.

The elected IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter committee members are as follows:

Secretary: Dr. Hazlee Azil Illias
Treasurer: Dr. Nor Asiah Muhammad

Dr. Amir Izzani Mohamed
Dr. Hidayat Zainuddin
Dr. Norhafiz Azis
Dr. Azrul Mohd Ariffin

The current members of IEEE DEIS Malaysia who were not called for this meeting will be contacted and informed regarding to this newly established chapter.

Discussion regarding to possible activities of IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter (sponsored by or co-sponsored) was held. The main purpose of these activities is to ensure the sustainability of the Chapter. Members agreed that the following activities will be planned:
a) Organising industrial talks
b) Promoting IEEE DEIS
c) Organising IEEE International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD) (Chapter has to bid to be the host)
d) Organising International Conference on the Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials (ICPADM) (Chapter has to bid to be the host)
e) Organising 2012 International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application (ICHVE) (Chapter has to bid to be the host)
f) Proposing new conferences on dielectric and electrical insulation

Members have also agreed that the following activities will be organised and co-organised by IEEE DEIS Malaysia Chapter:
a) Training on high voltage bushing in University of Malaya by Mr. Sanuri from TNBR on 25th August 2015
b) Colloquium on Transformers in USM in December 2015
c) MyHVnet Symposium/Colloquium in UTM in Jan/Feb 2016
d) UNITEN international talks
